Trip cancellation policies
RAFT RENTALS:
Rental cancellations must be received at least 45 days prior to the trip date to receive a deposit refund. If you cancel with less than 45 days before your trip, your deposit will be turned into a credit that is good for one year. If receiving a deposit refund, Deschutes River Adventures will keep 5% of the deposit to cover credit card fees. If you cancel or drop rafts with less than 5 days notice before your trip, you will lose your deposit for that raft. No shows and cancellations within 24 hours will be charged in full. We appreciate as much cancellation notice as possible so we can try to rent out the rafts we’ve been saving for you. We may update our cancellation policy at any time.
GUIDED DAY TRIPS:
Trip cancellations must be received at least 30 days prior to the trip date to receive a deposit refund. If you cancel with less than 30 days before your trip, your deposit will be refunded as a credit good for one year. If you cancel with less than 5 days notice before your scheduled trip then you will lose your deposit. No-shows and same-day cancellations will be charged in full. For all cancellations, Deschutes River Adventures will keep a $10 admin fee or 5% of the deposit cost, whichever is higher. We appreciate as much advance notice of cancellation as possible so we can resell the spots we’ve been saving for you. If you show up with less people than the number of spots you reserved, you will still have to pay for those spots. To avoid paying for more people than you have to, please call our office to update your headcount at least 48 hours in advance, 1-800-RAFTING (723-8464) Groups of 16 or more must update their headcount at least 1 week ahead of time to avoid penalty.
GUIDED OVERNIGHT TRIPS:
These trips sell out months in advance. Overnight trip deposits are refundable with 90 days notice. If your headcount changes, please let us know as soon as possible to avoid being charged for those spots. We appreciate advance notice of cancellation so we can resell those spots to others. For overnight trips, your balance is due 1 week before your launch date. Once your balance is ran, there are no refunds or credits.
Gift Certificates:
Gift certificates are not refundable and do not expire.
Late fees at put-ins and takeouts
RAFT RENTALS DELIVERED / PICKED UP:
We run on a tight schedule for our raft rental deliveries. Please don’t leave us hanging at the put-in. If you are more than 45 min. late than the agreed upon meeting time at the put-in we may charge a $45 / hr late fee.
At the takeout we understand that you’ve been on river time during your trip. You may not know what time or day it is. At the put-in before you shove off, we will ask you what time you think you’ll be off the river so that at places with no cell service and are hours away from our shop, we’re not waiting on you and you’re not waiting on us for too long. Please try to be accurate on the time you tell us for your last day. If you are more than 3 hours later than the time you told us you’d be done, and we’ve been waiting on your group at Heritage Landing or Sandy Beach, we may impose a $45 per hour late fee.
UHAULS FROM OUR SHOP:
Rafts, kayaks and other gear need to be returned to our store no later than 6 pm. We will charge a $30 / hr late fee for rentals returned after 6 pm unless you have pre-arranged a different return time.
Disorderly conduct
The guided trip will end immediately for anyone who is found to be drunk, disorderly or otherwise intoxicated. There will be no refunds. We reserve the right to refuse service.
