the 13-mile DEschutes River trip with a bbq lunch!
- Our must-see Central Oregon adventure! This 5.5-hour, 13-mile trip features stunning high desert scenery, lunch and swimming stops, and exciting Class III–IV rapids including Boxcar, Wapinitia, and Oaks Springs.
- The full-day trip is packed with swim stops! After lunch we pull over to swim rapids, enjoy a short hike up White River to the natural rock slides or pull into Pirate’s Cove to a 12-ft jump into the calm, deep cove.
- Full-day trips check in at our Maupin office at 10:30 AM and return between 3:30–4 PM.
- This trip is a great option for families and groups. From action-packed whitewater paddling to a leisurely float full of history and geology of the Deschutes River, we pride ourselves in offering the right trip for each person.
- There is a 5 person minimum for full day trips. We do combine smaller groups. Your raft may have up to 8 people on it.
- All of our pricing includes river permit fees and credit card fees, hooray! Minimum age requirement for full day trips is 6 years old and at least 45 lbs.

What rapids will we raft during a Deschutes River trip?
You’ll paddle your way through class III and IV rapids such as Wapinitia, Boxcar, Devil’s Hole, Oaks Springs, Elevator, and Lower Elevator rapids.
Who is this trip best for?
Full-Day Deschutes River trips are great for anyone age 6 and up who is ok being in full sun for more than half the day. This trip is great for all experience levels from beginners to adrenaline junkies because the fun swimming stops we make.
How long is a full-day Deschutes River trip?
The trip lasts about 5.5 hours, and check-in begins at our store at 10:30a.
Can I bring my dog with me on the raft?
While we LOVE dogs in general, we can’t allow them on the raft with you for guided trips. We have occasionally watched a dog in our office while the owner is rafting, call us to see what we got going on that day. No promises, we’re a busy place but we always try to accommodate when we can.

We are located 5 minutes away from the best whitewater in Oregon on the Deschutes River in Maupin, OR!
Get to Maupin From Portland:
- Merge onto I-84 E toward The Dalles.
- Take the US-197 exit, EXIT 87, toward Dufur/Bend.
- Turn right onto US-197 South.
- After 1/4 mile at stop sign follow Us-197 South to the left.
- Head 38 miles to Maupin on Us-197 south.
- Once you arrive in to town (you will see sidewalks), we are the first business on your left.
Get to Maupin From Bend:
- Merge onto US-97 N toward Redmond.
- After 42 miles, turn right onto US-97 N.
- After 25 miles, stay straight to go onto US-197 N. to Maupin. Continue to follow US-197 N.
- After 22 miles, you will cross the Deschutes River. Come up the hill, at the far end of town (you will see sidewalks) we will be on your right.
